Macquarie Harbour Marine Farming Expansion EPBC submission

In February 2024, the Tasmanian Government made a submission to the Federal Minister for Environment and Water, Tanya Plibersek MP, in relation to requests to reconsider the 2012 decision that proposed marine farming expansion in Macquarie Harbour is not a controlled action if undertaken in a particular manner. In October 2024, the Tasmanian Government sent Minister Plibersek an addendum to its submission highlighting critical new and emerging information about water quality in the harbour and the population of the Maugean skate to inform her decision. Both submissions are available below.
