Applications are now open for funding for the Recycling Modernisation Fund (RMF) Plastics Technology Stream. The RMF Plastics Technology Stream is a $60 million national funding program invested by the Australian Government.
Tasmanians are encouraged to apply for the funding which is open until 8 September 2023. The initial application process for Tasmanian projects will be administrated by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (NRE Tas).
Eligible projects need to focus on hard-to-recycle plastics. They may include new infrastructure, technology, processes, machinery or equipment, an improvement or expansion of existing infrastructure or commercialisation, or scaling up to build or increase existing capacity.
Proponents can apply for a minimum grant of $1 million and maximum grant of $20 million and must be commissioned and operational by 30 June 2027.
