Australia is FMD free - help us keep it that way
Page Content
Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) has been detected in a range of locations throughout the world, however most recently FMD has been identified as being present in Indonesia, including Bali. To ensure everyone can stay up to date with information about FMD, Biosecurity Tasmania has created some new webpages, and re-designed our existing FMD webpage, to make it easier to find the information you need.
We have information to help if you're:
- travelling back from overseas
- a local primary producer looking to strengthen your farm biosecurity practices
- looking to learn more about animal diseases and how you can play your part to keep them out of mainland Australia and Tasmania
We also have information on best practice when cleaning and disinfecting items if you’re returning from FMD-infected countries, and more details about the General Biosecurity Direction that came into effect on July 13 2022.
