The virus affects birds, other animals and, in very rare cases, people.
There has been no detections in Tasmanian poultry and chicken and eggs remain safe to eat.
Tasmania's focus remains on early detection, strong surveillance and rapid response.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania continues to work closely with industry, government and wildlife experts to support a coordinated response and protect the state's poultry sector.
Tasmanians are urged to stay vigilant. If you see sick or dead birds or other wildlife:
AVOID contact.
RECORD what you see - the type of animal, the number of animals, the location and take photos or video.
REPORT by calling the Emergency Animal Disease hotline as soon as possible on 1800 675 888 or online through a reporting form.
