Celebrating our change makers during National Volunteer Week

​​​It’s National Volunteer Week and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (NRE Tas) would like to recognise the vital work delivered by our 1,500 volunteers and celebrate the service our staff members provide to other volunteer organisations. 

National Volunteer Week, held from 15-21 May 2023, is Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteering and a chance for us all to thank those who participate. 

We are lucky to work alongside many hardworking and skilled volunteers, who partner with us every day and help to achieve environmental, conservation, and sustainability outcomes to preserve the heritage and biodiversity of Tasmania.

We are also inspired by the stories of our staff members who contribute their time and skills to other worthwhile causes – helping to spark positive change and make our world a little bit brighter.
