Check the microchip details for your cat

​​Tasmanian cat owners are urged to check microchip details, as the pet microchip registry HomeSafeID is no longer operating.  

This means that microchip details of cats that were registered with HomeSafeID are no longer accessible, and lost cats may not be able to be traced back to their owners. 

How to check your cat's microchip​

Check where your cat’s microchip is registered by visiting the Pet Address website and enter the microchip number.  

If the microchip number is found, you will be directed to the relevant registry, where you can check that your details are up to date. 

If the microchip number is not found, register the microchip with one of the following pet microchip registries: 

Don’t know your cats microchip number?​​ 

Check your cat’s paperwork or contact your veterinarian, who can scan your cat and provide you with the microchip number. 

It is important for cat owners to keep microchip details up to date so you can be reunited with your cat if it goes missing or is found.
