Free and open access to historical aerial imagery of Tasmania

Aerial images that record the history of Tasmania and its changing landscape are now easier to access than ever before.

Land Tasmania's new version of the Aerial Photo Viewer (APV) allows people to search, view and download free of charge images from the extensive aerial record of Tasmania managed by Land Tasmania.

Images available span the period from 1945 to the present, and both historic and newly capture imagery are continually being added.

The new APV is aimed at meeting an increasing demand for access to Land Tasmania's historical imagery library. The web-based map application includes revised indexes, extensive digital image tiles and new help documentation.

Try the Aerial Photo Viewer at www.thelist.tas.gov.au/aerial-imagery.
