Have you ever wanted to become a wildlife carer?

The number of wildlife needing care grows each year and more trained Tasmanian wildlife carers are urgently needed.

New carers will be required to complete the new training course developed by the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment (DPIPWE), Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service (WIRES), Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, and an experienced local wildlife carer and educator before registering with DPIPWE.

The fee for the course is $125. These fees are used to cover the cost of training.

Existing registered rehabilitators with experience will not be required to complete the training course. It is a great opportunity to refresh existing skills and keep up-to-date with current sector expectations.
