Nominations for the 2027 AgriFutures Rural Women's Award are now open

For 25 years we have facilitated the AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award in Tasmania. The Rural Women's Award is Australia's leading award recognising and supporting the vital contribution women make to rural and emerging industries, businesses, and communities.

Nominations are now open for the 2027 Tasmanian AgriFutures Rural Women's Award.

Do you know a woman making a meaningful impact in rural or emerging industries, businesses, or communities? Now is the time to recognise her.

The Award provides financial and practical support to help rural women bring their ideas to life, strengthen their leadership capabilities, and increase their influence and representation across rural Australia.

In 2026, Tasmania was represented by Amy Vickers. Drawing on her experience as an Australian Navy Aviation Technician and Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Amy developed Well Beyond Service, a program supporting women who have served in Defence, emergency services, and volunteer emergency roles. The program helps participants reconnect, recover, and rediscover wellness, belonging, and purpose beyond service.

Each state and territory winner receives:

  • A $15,000 grant to support the development of their project, business, or program

  • Access to professional development opportunities

  • Entry into a valuable national alumni network

  • Champion Her: Nominate an Inspiring Woman

Do you know a woman with a bold idea, strong leadership potential, or a passion for creating positive change in rural, regional, or remote Australia?

Through the AgriFutures Champion Her nomination pathway, you can recommend an inspiring woman who may be an ideal candidate for either the AgriFutures Rural Women's Award or the AgriFutures Rural Women's Acceleration Grant.

If someone comes to mind, take a moment to nominate her and help celebrate, empower, and support the next generation of rural women leaders.
