Tasmania’s new container refund scheme will be known as Recycle Rewards when it launches in 2023. 

Recycle Rewards is a key initiative of the Tasmanian Government that will: 

• reduce litter

• increase recycling

• supporting the development of our circular economy 

• maximise the number of containers returned

• provide opportunities for charities and community groups

• benefit the environment​

A competitive procurement process is underway to appoint the Scheme Coordinator, who will run the administration and finance, and Network Operator, who manages the network of Refund Points across Tasmania.

The Expression of Interest stage is complete, and the successful proponents have now been issued with Request for Tender documentation, to commence the next stage of the procurement process
