Second round of agricultural research funding closes soon

The second funding round of the Agricultural Development Fund and Agricultural Innovation Fund closes on 3 February.

Applicants can apply for up to $500,000 for research, development and extension (RD&E) projects that will deliver broad benefits to Tasmania and the state’s agricultural sector, have strong industry support and partnerships, and demonstrate a clear strategy to deliver on-farm impacts.

Preference will be given to funding for projects related to climate-responsive agriculture; biosecurity and risk mitigation; digital transformation; rapid response; and agricultural water use.

This second funding round follows a successful first round where $3.6 million was allocated to eight new projects.

Investment in agricultural RD&E is a key part of the Tasmanian Government’s strategy to reach its ambitious target to grow the value of Tasmanian agriculture to $10 billion by 2050.
