Background
The Tasmanian Salmon Industry Plan 2023 (the Plan) commenced 1 May 2023.
The Plan establishes an enduring strategic framework to guide Government’s long-term priorities to support an innovative and sustainable salmon industry in Tasmania.
Implementation of the Plan will be coordinated by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (NRE Tas) in collaboration with associated state government agencies, research organisations and the independent Environment Protection Authority.
NRE Tas will coordinate three implementation arrangements including the Salmon Industry Working Group. The Working Group will report directly through the Chair to the Secretary NRE Tas, and its Terms of Reference will be formalised as an outcome of the first official meeting with the independent chair.
