Applications for the Waste Tyre Reprocessing Grant Program: Roads to Resource Recovery and round 2 of the Recycling Modernisation Fund (Plastics) Grants are closing soon.
The Waste Tyre Reprocessing Grant Program is a one-off grant supporting industry investment in a rubber crumbling plant to produce reuse materials for road surfacing, or to develop other solutions for tyre reuse in Tasmania, up to $3 million.
While the name of the program is broad, reflecting the fact that there are multiple ways to improve resource recovery, the main focus is recycled crumbled rubber for Tasmanian roads.
Applications for the Waste Tyre Reprocessing Grant Program close at 3pm Monday 13 February 2023 and are to be submitted online at https://nre.smartygrants.com.au/waste-tyre-grant, applicants must be National Tyre Product Stewardship Scheme accredited.

Round 2 of the Recycling Modernisation Fund (Plastics) Grant Program will provide up to $1.26 million over the next two years to eligible Tasmanian recycling projects.
The Australian Government, through its Recycling Modernisation Fund, provided $5.5 million, which was matched by $5.5 million from the Tasmanian Government to support the increase of recycling and remanufacturing of plastics in Tasmania.
Applications must be lodged by 3pm Tuesday 28 February 2023. Applications must be submitted online at SmartyGrants RMF Plastics Round 2.
