The independent review by Mike Blake into the Queensland fruit fly incursion in Tasmania is now complete.

The Tasmanian Government and industry biosecurity response to the incursion was the largest of its kind in Tasmania's history.

Tasmania's biosecurity response led to the State regaining its Queensland fruit fly free status in January 2019.

The Tasmanian Government accepts in full the Review's recommendations aimed at further improving Tasmania's rigorous biosecurity system.

The recommendations are designed to further improve an already rigorous biosecurity system in Tasmania which extends to collaborative improvements with mainland States and Territories and the Federal biosecurity system.
