How does the cadetship work?
work full-time with NRE Tas and be supported to study your undergraduate degree part-time (2 subjects per Semester)

What skills do I need?
We are looking for applicants who have an interest in leadership and management. Applicants must recently have commenced a relevant degree course or prior to commencing the cadetship be enrolled for entry in a degree course. Cadets are required to work up to full-time hours (36.75 hours per week) for a period of up to 6 years. Applicants should have work rights to allow for this.
What will I be paid?
Cadets are paid as full-time employees under the Tasmanian State Service Award and receive paid time off to attend lectures, tutorials, and exams over and above normal leave entitlements.
Starting salary is currently $56,773 per annum for a first-year student, but this may be higher depending on how far you are through your degree. You also receive 11.5% employer contributions to your superannuation and all the added benefits that come with working for the State Service.
What work will I be doing?
You will be involved in exciting projects, undertaking a wide range of research and administrative activities to acquire a broad range of skills and knowledge. Together we will support you to develop a future career in management through ongoing training and skills development.
