A survey of the Tasmanian commercial beekeeping industry was conducted in March 2025. The survey focused mainly on the 2023-24 financial year, however a small number of questions related to beekeepers' future intentions were also asked.Based on the survey findings, NRE Tas estimates that the State's commercial bee industry was worth a total of $17.6 million at the farmgate in 2023-24, a 15% increase compared with the previous estimation in 2020-21. Nearly 15,000 hives provided pollination services, up 45% from 2020-21.
