Farm Business Resilience Program (Tasmania)

How prepared are you for an unpredictable future banner
What's your plan for the next drought, fire, flood or downturn?

You can't predict the next setback to hit your farm, but you can prepare for it so that your productivity and profitability are protected.

The Tasmanian Farm Business Resilience (FBR) Program helps Tasmanian farmers grow their businesses and plan with confidence — no matter what the seasons bring.

The program:

  • Provided business coaching to improve confidence in making business decisions and managing risk.

  • Gave knowledge and tools needed to get the most out of your farming business.

  • Helped develop strategies on how to manage risks and progress opportunities.

  • Teaches new skills and techniques to build personal resilience, helping to focus on opportunities and deal with challenges.

FBR Program 2022 - 2025:
The first round of the FBR program ran from 2022 to October 2025 and was delivered by our partners at DairyTas and RMCG.  The program was designed to help producers build a tailored, long-term plan that helps manage risk, respond to changing conditions to help the producers to get ahead.

During the inital phase of the program in excess of 400 Tasmanian primary producers were directly engaged in the program and developed over 220 business resilience plans.

FBR Program 2026:
The Australian and State Governments plan to continue the Farm Business Resilience program in the future. Details about the next round are being finalised and plan to be available in early 2026.

It is envisaged that the future program would continue to work with producers to help them identify the risk to their business and develop tailored plans, while also supporting producers who developed their plans under the initial FBR program.

We encourage all producers to register thier interest below.
