What's Involved

The first round of the FBR program ran from 2022 to 2025 and was delivered by DairyTas and RMCG.  The program was designed to help producers build a tailored, long-term plan that helps manage risk and respond to changing conditions.

During the first phase of the program, more than 400 Tasmanian primary producers were directly engaged and developed 220 business resilience plans.

Phase 2 of the Farm Business Resilience (FBR) Program will be running in 2026. It will be delivered by the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA). More information about FBR 2 will be available soon.

In the meantime, please register your interest using the form on our program webpage  to receive updates and further information.

What makes this program different?

The Farm Business Resilience Program allows producers to take a step back from the day-to-day and focus on the big picture. The program will help you identify your business priorities and define clear steps to address the issues that matter most to you.

Some key areas might include:

  • When to diversify, expand, de-stock or pivot
  • How to respond to on-farm emergencies or pest and disease outbreaks
  • What long-term goals and values drive your decision-making

Rather than just offering information, we walk the journey with you.

One-on-one guidance:
You'll work with experts and have access to expert advice on topics such as farm operations, finance, environment, and people.
Real-world action:
We’ll help you identify risks and opportunities, and turn them into a practical, realistic plan.
Tailored to you:
No two farms are alike, so this program is built around your goals, your challenges, and your pace.
Lasting impact:
The skills and strategies you gain will benefit your business well beyond the program.
