The Heatwave Forecast from the Bureau of Meteorology can assist growers with the preparation of managing stressed crops over summer.  The Bureau updates the information twice daily.

The Heatwave Forecast shows the location of heatwaves, severe heatwaves and extreme heatwaves for the last two days and the next four days.  It uses some analysis Numerical Weather Prediction model data, not the Official Forecast data.

Normalised Difference Vegetation Index

The Normalised Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) indicates live green vegetation absorbs visible light (solar radiation) as part of photosynthesis. At the same time plants scatter (reflect) solar energy in the near infrared. This difference in absorption is quite unique to live vegetation and provides a measure of the greenness of the vegetation.
