The Farm Business Management Skill Set is designed to
help farmers prepare for drought or other challenges through improving
their farm business management skills. Farm business management has a
number of key focus areas designed to assist you in setting directions,
looking at your finances and also your resources to help you get the
best out of your assets (people, machinery and other on-farm assets).
These modules include:
- Supporting and reviewing your business structure and relationships
- Developing and reviewing your business plan
- Monitoring and reviewing your business performance
- Managing risk
TasTAFE is one such provider in Tasmania. Some RTOs also offer some of these modules online. One that you could consider is Tocal College, NSW Department of Primary Industries.
Training needs - where can you get help
The Enterprise Centres in Tasmania have
free business advisors (regionally located) that can help you
understand what your training needs are and where you can go for help.
Rural Business Tasmania can also provide direction and refer you to a rural financial counsellor if you are in financial hardship.
