The RFCS is a statewide free, confidential, and independent counsel to primary producers, fishermen and small rural and regional businesses that are suffering financial hardship.

In addition to the counselling service, Rural Business Tasmania also offers other services to the rural community. These include an administration service, a farm financial service and the Rural Relief Fund for farming families. ​​
