Overview
The Primary Producer Recovery Grants and Recovery Loans Scheme are jointly funded by the Commonwealth and Tasmanian Government under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
These recovery measures aim to assist those in demonstrated need with the costs of clean-up and reinstatement of infrastructure for primary producers that have suffered damage as a direct result of the Central Tasmanian Floods from October 2021 and November 2021 and the Southern Tasmanian Storm in December 2021.

Funding Available
Primary Producer Recovery Grants
The maximum grant amount for clean-up, reinstatement activities is $10,000 (ex GST) per affected property.
Primary Producer Recovery Loan Scheme
The Tasmanian Government is pleased to release this concessional $1 million loan scheme. The scheme provides loans of between $20 000 and $100 000 to successful applicants, with the loan being repayable over five years.
Assistance under this scheme is by way of loan and is not compensatory. Applicants therefore need to be in urgent and genuine need of assistance.
Recovery Loans Scheme
Recovery loans are provided to assist you to re-establish the normal operations of your primary production enterprise by covering costs such as:
- repairing or replacing damaged plant and equipment
- repairing or replacing farm buildings
- purchasing livestock to replace those lost in the disaster event
- meeting carry-on requirements including:
- re-planting, restoring or re-establishing areas affected by the disaster event
- sustenance
- essential property operations
- paying rent and rates
