Grant Round 2 - Tag Rebate Scheme

Tag Rebate Scheme now open

The scheme will help owners of sheep and goats transition from the current visual device and mob-based approach to individual electronic tagging of sheep and goats, by providing a rebate on purchased tags.

Available rebates

  • A $1 rebate per tag on retail price (GST exclusive) of eligible eID device ear tags.

  • A $4 rebate per tag on retail price (GST exclusive) of eligible eID device goat leg bands, where ear tags are not suitable for particular goat breeds.

Eligible tag types

Rebates are only available on fully accredited National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) Radio Frequency Identification Devices (RFID) ear tags and leg bands. The NLIS approved sheep and goat identification list is available on the Integrity Systems website.

Ordering and applying electronic devices

Animals must only be identified with one eID tag at a time. The device or tag should remain with the animal for life.

eID tags are species specific and can only be used on the type of livestock they are purchased for. The species is recorded against each identification number on the NLIS database. For help on how to order the correct tags for your animals, see Ordering Approved NLIS Electronic Devices for Sheep and Goats (PDF 717Kb).

See below a list of guides for applying eID devices.
