In 2023-24, Tasmania's poultry industry contributed 1% of national chicken meat and egg productionn, with chicken meat worth $47.6 million and eggs $14.8 million. The sector employs over 300 FTE across large integrated operations and smaller producers. Value-added products - processed chicken and premium eggs - generated $119 million, supported by rising national consumption of chicken and eggs.
