Sector Snapshot - Poultry 2023-24 (PDF 1Mb)
In 2023-24, Tasmania's poultry industry contributed 1 percent of national chicken meat and egg production, with chicken meat worth $47.6 million and eggs $14.8 million.
The sector employs over 300 Full Time Equivalents across large integrated operations and smaller producers.
Value-added products generated $119 million, supported by rising national consumption of chicken and eggs. This includes processed chicken and premium eggs.

Tasmanian Beekeeping Survey 2025 Report (PDF 2Mb)
The Tasmanian Beekeeping Survey 2025 provides the most up-to-date snapshot of the sector as at 2023-24.
Based on the survey findings, NRE Tas estimates that the State's commercial bee industry was worth a total of $17.6 million at the farmgate in 2023-24. This was a 15 percent increase compared with the previous estimation in 2020-21.
Nearly 15,000 hives provided pollination services, up 45 percent from 2020-21.
Potato
Sector Snapshot - Potato 2023-24 (PDF 1Mb)
In 2023-24, Tasmania produced 31% of Australia’s potatoes, generating a farmgate value of $379 million and accounting for 14% of the state’s agricultural farmgate value, with processing potatoes contributing most of the value through products such as frozen chips and hash browns.
Interstate markets are the main destination for Tasmanian potatoes, with 83% of production consumed outside the state and interstate exports valued at $376 million.
