​​To cultivate poppies in Tasmania, you need a valid contract with a licensed processing company to grow the crop and a poppy grower's licence from the Poppy Advisory and Control Board​.

Interested growers should first contact a licensed processor to express their interest.  

Licensed processors in Tasmania are: Sun Pharmaceuticals and Extractas Bioscience (trading as Tasmanian Alkaloids)​.

Once you have a contract, the processor will assist you with your licence application.
