Cressy Research and Demonstration Station - Register of Interest

Status:  CLOSED

Registrations of interest to lease the Cressy Research and Demonstration Station have now closed.

The current long term lease is due to expire in November 2024 and in order to ensure value for all parties the Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania is seeking Expressions of interest (EOI) to lease the Cressy Research and Demonstration Station from the Crown.

The farm consists of approximately 478 hectares across two Titles, on which grazing, broadacre cropping and agricultural research, development and extension are undertaken. It can be located by searching ‘Cressy Research Station’ on LISTMap.

The lessee will be expected to work with the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture in the delivery of their research plan for the site. The lessee will also be expected to undertake co-investment on the site in partnership with the Crown regarding infrastructure upgrades as detailed within the Plan for Tasmania's Research Farm Capacity.

The Department will consider a wide range of possible proposals for management of the Station that will best allow for research, development and extension activities.

Further information is available by contacting Business Manager, Agriculture Forestry and Water, Mathew Willis, on (03) 6165 3040 or email: CressyEOI@nre.tas.gov.au

Registering an interest will ensure you are made aware of when the EOI process commences and details are provided to you as soon as finalised.
