Introduction
The Animal Health Laboratories are Tasmanian Government
owned laboratories that provide NATA accredited (ISO/IEC 17025) laboratory testing services in
the field of animal health and water microbiology testing. More information about NATA can be found on their website - www.nata.com.au.
The laboratory tests specimens from livestock (including aquatic
species) as part of the Tasmanian Biosecurity strategy. This strategy supports
primary production in Tasmania and identifies endemic and exotic pests and
disease risks. Specimens from wildlife are received under this program.
Details of services offered, and associated fees, are available at the links below. .
Please note that the laboratory does not charge a fee for investigating a suspect case of an emergency animal disease.
