Animal Health Legislation

​​On 17 May 2023, the Tasmanian Biosecurity Act 2019 was fully enacted, replacing several pieces of legislation including the now repealed Animal Health Act 1995 and Animal Health Regulations 2016.

From time to time, the Chief Veterinary Officer or Minister may publish notices in the Government Gazette which have important implications for persons involved with animals and animal materials. These Notices are available to the public on the Tasmanian Government Gazette website​.
