​​​​​​​​​​​Bird flu is a contagious, viral disease affecting wild, commercial, and domesticated bird species and other animals.  

  • Report sudden or large numbers (more than 5) of sick or dead birds or other animals to the ​Emergency Animal Disease Hotline 1800 675 888 ​

  • Report small numbers of sick or dead birds or other animals through the online reporting form​

Do not touch sick or dead birds or other animals.

The Tasmanian Avian Influenza Readiness and Response Plan outlines how we will respond to an outbreak of bird flu and how you can prepare. The Plan will be reviewed regularly as new information emerges. ​
