Australia is free from foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) and we all want to keep it that way.
FMD is present in a range of locations throughout the world, most recently detected in Indonesia-Bali. Due to the proximity to Australia, the largely uncontrolled nature of the FMD infection in that region, and the high volumes of passenger traffic into Australia from Indonesia-Bali, the Commonwealth government and Australian states and territories have strengthened their FMD awareness and information campaigns.
