The Tasmanian Government has been reviewing the laws that regulate and control dogs in Tasmania. The review ensures contemporary and enforceable welfare outcomes for dogs in Tasmania.
The review is in response to:
Proposed changes will affect the Dog Control Act 2000, Animal Welfare (Dogs) Regulations 2016, and Guidelines.
How to make a submission
Before making a submission please read the Discussion Paper which outlines the areas of dog welfare that are under examination and the proposed changes to legislation that aim to improve the welfare of all dogs in Tasmania.

Other than indicated below, submissions will be treated as public information and will be published on this website following consideration of them and the Government determining the next steps in the development of the policy.
No personal information other than an individual's name or the organisation making a submission will be published.
