Climate Change

​In Tasmania, strategies and actions are currently being undertaken or planned to address greenhouse gas emissions and climate change adaptation. The Department has run projects which focus on climate change projection and adaptation for natural heritage.

    Projected future changes in Tasmanian temperature, rainfall, evaporation and sea level are continuing to be developed.
  • Coastal Vulnerability
    Climate change and sea-level rise will have a significant impact on Tasmania's coastline. Adaptation strategies are constantly being refined as new information becomes available.
  • Natural Systems Resiliency Project
    The Natural Systems Resilient to Climate Change Project addresses the need for the Tasmanian Government and the community to better understand the risks to our natural environment in order to make informed planning and management decisions.
