Conservation covenants are intended to safeguard Tasmania’s unique plants, animals, habitats, and landscapes for generations to come. The covenant policies are intended to provide guidance for establishing new conservation covenants in Tasmania, and should be read in conjunction with one another.
Covenant Policy
The Covenant Policy outlines the principles for establishing conservation covenants under the Tasmanian Nature Conservation Act 2002 and provides a definition of natural features protected by covenants.

The Covenant Design Policy expands on the principles outlined in the Covenant Policy. The Covenant Design Policy addresses administration and legal matters, spatial design of the covenant and ongoing effective management matters.
