The Tasmanian Vegetation Monitoring and Mapping Program (TVMMP) forms part of the Natural Values Conservation Branch within DPIPWE and is composed of a small dedicated team of professionals with specialist skills in vegetation science, ecology, GIS and research. The TVMMP is the authoritative source of digital vegetation community information in Tasmania and provides services to government and the people of Tasmania through:
the development and maintenance of vegetation community mapping layers and supporting information;
tools for assessing the condition and change in Tasmania's vegetation; and
the provision of expert advice on vegetation community matters for a range of audiences, including natural resource managers, land-use decision makers/regulators, educators and the general public.
