Tasmanian Vegetation Monitoring and Mapping Program (including TASVEG)

​​​​​​​The Tasmanian Vegetation Monitoring and Mapping Program (TVMMP) forms part of the Natural Values Conservation Branch within DPIPWE and is composed of a small dedicated team of professionals with specialist skills in vegetation science, ecology, GIS and research​. The TVMMP is the authoritative source of digital vegetation community information in Tasmania and provides services to government and the people of Tasmania through:

  • the development and maintenance of vegetation community mapping layers and supporting information;

  • tools for assessing the condition and change in Tasmania's vegetation; and

  • the provision of expert advice on vegetation community matters for a range of audiences, including natural resource managers, land-use decision makers/regulators, educators and the general public.
