Use of survey control information obtained from the Survey Control Mark Database (SurCom) is subject to the following warnings:
The default datum for horizontal coordinates available from SurCom is GDA2020, however coordinates for any mark in the system may also be expressed in terms of other datums including GDA94 and AGD66. It is the responsibility of users to ensure that the correct datum is selected. The Government of Tasmania will not be responsible for any loss caused by incorrect selection or interpretation of survey datums.
The identity and stability of a survey control mark must be verified in accordance with established survey best practice, before placing any reliance on the coordinates or height currently recorded for that mark. The Government of Tasmania will not be responsible for any loss that might result from the erroneous identification or instability of any survey control mark.
Whilst every effort is made to validate the accuracy and integrity of data contained in SurCom, this data is derived from a variety of sources, some of which are outside the control of the Office of the Surveyor General. The Government of Tasmania will not be responsible for any loss that might be attributable to the presence in SurCom of erroneous or inaccurate information.
