The Recorder's Directions which take effect on 7 March 2024 make binding Directions relating to the preparation and lodgement for registration of applications, dealings, instruments, and other documents for the purposes of the Land Titles Act 1980.
These Directions apply to all Registry Instruments and other Documents which are dated on or after 7 March 2024 and which are lodged with the Land Titles Office in accordance with the Land Titles Act 1980 on or after 7 March 2024, other than excluded Registry Instruments and other Documents, as determined from time to time by the Recorder of Titles.
The Recorder of Titles has determined the Registry Instruments and other Documents which are to be excluded from these Directions. Any such Registry Instrument or other Document will, until further notice, not be required to have complied with the Directions which have been issued by the Recorder.

1. Notable Registry Instruments and other Documents that have been excluded are:
- Application to be Registered Proprietor by Survivorship (RPS)
- Caveat Forbidding Registration of Dealing with Estate or Interest
- Priority Notice
- Notice of Withdrawal of Priority Notice
- Application for New Certificate of Title
(Caveats, Priority Notices, and withdrawals of Priority Notices, have been excluded even though the Directions contemplate these being subject to the Directions.)
2. The Registry Instruments and other Documents that are excluded may change from time to time. Conveyancing practitioners should therefore confirm at any relevant time if a Registry Instrument or other Document is currently excluded. Any such change to the list of excluded dealings will be notified to conveyancing practitioners by the Land Titles Office.
