Expressions of Interest are now open for membership on the Scientific Advisory Committee (Threatened Species).
One position is available for applicants with specialist expertise in vascular and non-vascular flora.
The Committee provides advice to the Minister for Environment on matters relating to the conservation of threatened species, specifically the listing and delisting of species under the Threatened Species Protection Act 1995 and the creation of listing statements that provide conservation advice for threatened species. Committee members need to have specialist knowledge and experience in the sciences of flora or fauna conservation or ecology.
The Committee meets 2-4 times per year for approximately 4 hours per meeting; some out-of-session discussion and reading is required.
