The Pesticide Water Monitoring Program
commenced in 2005. It was implemented as a means to increase knowledge and
understanding as to the nature and extent of pesticide contamination of rivers
and streams in Tasmania. Test results have demonstrated that our waterways are
generally either free of pesticides or may occasionally have chemical traces at
levels significantly below the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines
health-related guideline values. All test results for the Pesticide Water
Monitoring Program, from the commencement of the program in 2005 to July 2014,
are included in the following document.
